The route of the track runs along the coast of the ocean – beaches and cliffs. This is the only such area in Morocco, where there are sandy beaches with dunes, but also dark, black coastal areas, like in The Planet of the Apes. Only here the beaches stretch to the horizon. We will gallop along the wild banks, climb the cliffs, ride along the beds of temporarily dry rivers. For a few days we will leave civilization far behind us, and on the way we will meet only nomads and fishermen.
Due to the terrain, we will mainly ride slowly, but there will be plenty of trotting and galloping, especially on wide, charming beaches. We will ride on berbarabian horses – a mixed breed of Arabian and Berber horses, extremely brave, tough and energetic.
SOUTH ATLANTIC TRAIL: 7 days of horseback riding / 6 nights in tents
Day 1
After arriving in Morocco, we go to the place where the rally begins, which is past Sidi Ali Jama. Our first trail along the riverbed will lead us to a beautiful beach. After the welcome dinner at sunset, we will spend the night in tents by the beach.
Day 2
After breakfast, horses will be assigned to participants, depending on the skill level of the rider. Then we follow the riverbed across the beach. In the riverbed, we will have lunch before we reach the mountains. After a long hike along beautiful trails, we will rest in a mountain camp.
Day 3
After breakfast in the camp, we continue our journey through the mountains. After three hours of riding, we’ll take a lunch break, eat and ride the horses again. We will also spend this night in the mountains.
Day 4
First breakfast. Then we return to the ocean to admire the scenery, which can’t be seen anywhere else. We will reach the beautiful salt water river that will lead us to the Plage Blanche – it is a 14- kilometre- long wild beach only for us and for fishermen. Here, experienced riders will be able to gallop along the coast. After lunch on the beach, we will head towards the camp, this time right by the ocean.
Day 5
It is a day of admiring ocean landscapes. After breakfast, we ride along the beaches and cliffs until we reach the camp at the end of the day. In the evening, also on the beach, there will be a gala dinner in a Berber style, with fire and live music.
Day 6
After a later than usual breakfast, we will set off along the shoreline to the last camp in a charming place by the beach.
Day 7
The last day of the rally is an opportunity for beautiful photos with horses wading in the ocean after sunrise. After the commemorative photo session, we will go to the lunch place, where our rally will end. After the meal, we head to Aourir or another city of departure.
Day 8
After the hotel breakfast, transfer to the airport.
