There are people for whom being in Morocco and not seeing the Sahara is like being in Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower. For lovers of adventures and harsh mountain and desert landscapes, this is a trip from the MUST category. Our adventure begins in Agadir or Marrakesh. To reach the desert, we cross the Atlas Mountains, which are in themselves a unique scenic attraction. It is not without reason that our journey is carried out in 4×4 cars – rocky formations with unpaved trails, sandy expanses require appropriate automotive equipment. Reaching the city of Ouarzazate, known as the film capital of Morocco, we stand at the gates of the desert. Hence, it is not far to the destination. The view of the sunset over an ocean of shining sand is worth every kilometer traveled.
We will visit the famous ergs – that is, breathtaking dunes. We will take a camel ride and spend the night in traditional Berber tents.
The first day is a drive through the Atlas Mountains. Passing Tazenahkt and Taliouine, we arrive at Ouarzazate, a city in the southern part of Morocco, also known as the “gateway to the desert”. Lunch will be provided at Ait Ben Haddou, the most beautiful kasbah in the south of Morocco, famous among others from the movie Gladiator, then we will stay overnight in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
The next day, we leave Ouarzazate and continue on – via Zagora and M’hamid (the last Moroccan village), crossing numerous kasbahs, mountains, valleys and oases, as well as palm groves and other villages that are the charm of the region – to reach Ergu Chigaga. We will travel from Zagora along desert wilderness. It is a great fun for those who love an automotive adventure. We will have lunch there. Afternoon and evening are the time to relax and have dinner under the stars.
After breakfast and a sunrise camel ride, we will head back to Agadir, with many stops along the way, for example in Tiout. In the village of Ali Baba and the village of forty robbers, we will have a delicious lunch. Return to the hotel is planned at around 7pm.

Today, the most famous production in the area is The Game of Thrones.

A rare sight in Morocco – wild animals. Fortunately, there is a place where you can admire them and it’s close to Agadir. What makes the Souss Massa National Park especially beautiful is its diversity which includes endless beaches and farmland as well as sand dunes, rocky cliffs, and dense argan forests. It is here that 250 species of birds, 30 species of mammals, 35 amphibians and reptiles live.
The Souss Massa National Park was established in 1991 on the area of 33,800 hectares.
As it is known for the countless species of permanent and migratory birds, avid watchers of winged friends flock here to get a glimpse of the blaze of colors that add variety to the landscape and green vegetation. Visitors are excited to see hoopoe, marble ducks, peregrine ducks, Berber falcons, booted eagles, spoonbills, spotted cuckoos, violet herons, swallows, bee-eaters, and red sheepdogs among many others. Of course, birds share their surroundings with fascinating animals such as jackals, Algerian hedgehogs, African wild cats, lizards, weasels and red foxes. In addition, there are rare specimens of reptiles and amphibians here. But one bird in particular steals the show and almost everyone who comes here hopes to see it. The Souss Massa National Park is one of the two parks where the Northern ibis lives. The number of representatives of this species has decreased so dramatically over the years that it is believed that only 100 breeding pairs remain – 75 of which are located in the Souss Massa National Park. Fortunately now the situation is better, because in 2000 there were only 33 breeding pairs in the park, but thanks to putting this area under protection, it has been possible to preserve and even almost double the number of specimen of this spectacular species.

Near Agadir, there is a paradise corner of the Sous-Massa region: Paradise Valley. If you want to get away from city life for a while and breathe deeply in the bosom of oriental nature – be sure to go on this trip. Legend has it that Jimmy Hendrix named this place Paradise Valley when he first visited Morocco. Canyons, ponds and small waterfalls create a fairy-tale scenery. The unspoiled, exotic nature stretching across the High Atlas Mountains is breathtaking. Amidst the sound of water, surrounded by cacti, argan trees, olive groves and unusual rock formations, you will feel what relaxation really is.
After leaving Agadir, we invite you for tea in a place filled with local decorations. Here you can get priceless trophies – completely unique photos. We will also visit a place with argan products, where oil is still obtained using traditional methods. Finally, along the road leading along the gorge with palm trees, we will reach the Paradise Valley. It was not named like this by accident. It is amazing at any time of the year. It provides the opportunity to rest and trek. Daredevils can prove themselves by jumping into the water from the cliffs. When we get to the Paradise Valley, we will have a short hike to the natural pools, where there will be free time and a break for fun in the water.

Sahara, known by us from beautiful photos, is 8 hours away from Agadir by car. However, for those who want to get a taste of a desert adventure and enjoy the view of sand dunes, we have an alternative in the form of the so-called Little Sahara. By the way, we will also visit the city of Tiznit, famous for its silver products.
Spend a day with off-road 4×4 adventures
The first point on the map of our trip will be the Ait Chrif oasis. On the way there, we will stop at a typical Berber village of Ait Milk. The real fun begins when, after crossing the banana plantations, we enter a sandy area. There you will experience a breathtaking adventure! After the desert off-roads, we will treat you to a traditionally prepared tajine. At the end of this day, we will go to Tiznit, which is called the “silver city”. There, we will walk in the medina and we will take you shopping. Why not to get some famous Berber silver jewelry for yourself?

Our goal on this day will be Legzira, but on the way we will also visit the prickly pear plantation and the silver city – Tiznit.
Legzira is one of the most beautiful and amazing beaches in Morocco. It is located about 150 kilometers south of Agadir. Two majestic arches of red stone are its characteristic feature. Carved by sea water and wind and shown on many photographs of natural wonders.
The south of Agadir there are no argan groves. There are cactus plantations. On the way to the unique Legzira, we will visit prickly pear plantations and the walled city of Tiznit, famous for its silver products. Legzira Beach is definitely something to see while in Morocco.
You can spend all afternoon on the beach the way you like, walking along the coast or relaxing in the sun and enjoying the ocean breeze … We will treat you to lunch in one of the local restaurants. After the unforgettable sunset in Legzira, we will return to Agadir.
